Templum Perfectum
In our sixth season, Collegium Cincinnati will explore the idea of finding the perfect structure – be it something we can touch and inhabit, or the metaphorical form of the perfect piece of music – in which to find stillness, meaning, and peace. We will find the beauty of structure in the architecture and design of newly reimagined spaces, and we will immerse ourselves in the formal genius of Bach and his colleagues. We will also celebrate the artistic masterpiece that is the new C.B. Fisk organ in the Centennial Chapel with a special inaugural concert that transports us back in time to a seventeenth-century chapel service.
In 2019, you’ll have the opportunity to hear the first of a three-year exploration of the mighty MASS. Beginning with Bach’s Mass in B Minor, we will offer three of the most important works in the repertoire: Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis.
